AURAS is an exploration of intention: scale, color, fabrication… how choosing or changing each of these elements in the print development process will shift the artworks story.

AURAS was created using film from a broken Minolta 16 MG, a 1960s subminature camera gifted from my Grandmother. The first rolls of film shot on this camera confirmed its age and need for repair. Although the film I developed did not capture my original intention, what I did get back was perhaps, even better.

The colors and shapes painted in these images felt artful and sinister… abstracted and captivating…. Inspiring this project and design entirely.

A lesson in meeting and seeing something for exactly what it is… this “bad” film lives on in new form and appreciation.
